Before we get into today's post I must say a huge thank you to you all for your gorgeous comments, emails and sweet messages on my second to last style post; You really do know how to make me feel better and I cannot thank you enough for always being so hugely supportive, I could never express just how much it means to me!
Feeling lost sometimes is something we all go through but talking about it and hearing your similar stories really does make me feel less alone and I'm glad by me talking about the matter it allows you to feel less alone too!
I'm an emotional being by nature being a Cancerian and all, but talking about how I'm feeling really does help to straighten my head and make me feel better. It's my birth month and it's really got me thinking about just how relevant star signs can be.
I've always been into horoscopes particularly because my late Nanna Hazel was BIG on them, she could guess your star sign simply by spending just 3 minutes in your company, something I was ALWAYS so fascinated by.
I check my horoscope every single day and whilst it's not always spot on, there is often something I can take solace in.
Whether you believe in them or think they're a load of tosh, I thought that seeing as though it is my birthday month and seeing as I missed my usual birthday blog post (read my 24th and 25th birthday posts here) I'd explore my star sign a little more which will hopefully allow you to learn a little more about me too 🙂
Lets chat about star signs and horoscopes in the comments too, I'd love to hear about the traits you have and whether they're reflected within your star sign. I'd equally love to hear if you're not a believer too, I think this could be a really interesting discussion so look forward to seeing you down in the comments.
First up, think about any Cancerians you may know.
Those that were born between June 21st-July 22nd, whats the first trait that springs to mind?
I bet, for the most part it was emotional.
Yup, us Cancerians are extremely emotional and that is one trait that I can SRSLY relate to. Whether I'm happy or sad my emotions really do rule my world, which can sometimes be a bloody pain but for the most part is a trait I like having as I am a complete open book.
What you see is what you get with me and there is certainly no hiding how I am feeling, it is usually written all over my face and for the most part written all over my blog too.
I think being classed as "emotional" often gets a lot of bad press, people tend to mistake being connected to ones emotions as being an emotional wreck, a drama queen, a cry baby, when in reality that isn't the case. I'm not a drama queen nor a cry baby, however things do seem to affect me and other Cancerians I know in ways that don't affect others, it's just our nature. I'll cry when I'm sad, I'll cry when I'm happy, I'll be the first to have a little sob at the ending of a love film and I'll sure as hell cry those happy tears when good news comes to me and my loved ones, yup call me an emotional wreck if you will, but I call it wearing my heart on my sleeve.
In relation to being emotional if I had a pound for every time I've been called sensitive I would be well on my way to being a millionaire right now; what can I say I am a sensitive Susan and I really do take a lot of things to heart, which is something I truly dislike about myself and about being a Cancerian. I'm a huge softy and sometimes I don't get "the joke" and instead take it a little personally... Oops!
Cancerians are also extremely loyal friends too, which I can say is totally true; sometimes too loyal for my own good which does get me into trouble from time to time... But at least you can trust me hey even if I do annoy the shit out of you with my lack of self esteem, something else us Cancerians have to deal with...
Cancerians are also highly imaginative beings, something once again I can relate to. For the most part this is super great as I have a million and one ideas flying around my little head, most of which I can act upon and get done to the highest ability I can, but sometimes this can be my downfall as I am extremely hard on myself when things don't go to plan. Perhaps thats the emotions within me or perhaps thats me being a little tenacious and more of a control freak than I need to be, another trait us Cancerians seem to have in common.
It's no secret that I am a huge home bird, I love nothing more than having a night in at home or hosting a dinner party for my nearest and dearest, something that is backed up by the traits of a cancerian. Cancer is the sign of family, or so they say, and when I think of myself, George (also a Cancerian, one of the few horoscopes that are actually compatible with one another...) my Nanna Hazel and auntie Sara-Jane, the other Cancerians in my life, I can see that this is most definitely correct. The four of us are ALL about family, about looking after family first, hosting at any given opportunity and being extremely sentimental towards family memories. It's my dream to have a family of my own one day as to me, family really is everything.
However, one of the few things I can't relate to within my own star sign is being solely sentimental. A Cancerian is said to not be able to get rid of ANYTHING, holding on to each and every little memory just because. Well this is not me, I’m a compulsive clearer-outerer, I freaking hate clutter and get a little stressed out when things aren’t in order (hello control freak) so I certainly have no qualms about getting rid of that ticket stub, art exhibition postcard or festival wristband from three years ago.
So, it’s safe to say I am a Cancerian through and through (for the most part anyway), a child of the moon, a summer baby and a little on the emotional side of life. I love with all my heart, I dream of having a family, I am loyal as heck but if that loyalty is not reciprocated I will leave you behind, I am overly sensitive, a dreamer with imagination and a bit of a pain in the ass, but hey, aren’t we all!
Happy Birthday to all my fellow Cancerians!
Although star signs and horoscopes of course need to be taken with a pinch of salt I’d love to hear more about your traits and whether they reflect your star sign too, lets chat it out, the good with the bad and lets have a laugh with it.
