Good day to you all, I hope you're all bloody marvellous and you had a gorgeous weekend.
If you've been on some form of social media over the weekend you'll know that George and I added two new members to our little family on Saturday. Two members in the form of Peter and Nancy the Dachshund puppies.
I thought I'd introduce you guys to them too, seen as YouTube, Instagram and Twitter have all had there fair share of pup-dates so I truly hope you love them as much as we do. Check out the vlog where we brought them home too, it's a gorgeous memory that we're so happy to have been able to document for you lovely lot and of course, for us to look back on too.
It's been a dream of mine since I was a little girl to have a sausage dog in my life so when George and I knew we were moving into our own place we were quickly on the case. And so here they are, little Nancy (black) and Peter (brown) brother and sister and light of our lives.
They're both doing so very well indeed having joined our home 4 days ago now; it's incredible how much a puppy can love you from the off isn't it!
Toilet training wise it's actually been a bloody doddle, they're getting there quickly with it, although saying that, Peter just went on the front door-mat, wrong door-mat Peter fella, it's the back door we go, but hey he was close ey?
I've also been SO incredibly surprised with how much they've slept also. Each night we've put them to bed around midnight and each morning we have had to wake them up at 8am, without a single peep throughout the night, it's absolutely bonkers, but I think it's the fact they have each other, which is such a beautiful thing.
It's also really funny how different they are and how they're personalities are already beginning to show.
Peter is an absolute softy, he's all about the cuddles (from absolutely everyone and anyone he meets) and is very clever, knowing that I'm the one to come to for quiet cuddle time and George is the playtime master, I like to think he's a mummy's boy like that. He loves playing tug of war and is becoming quite cheeky as his confidence grows, especially when it comes to my slippers and stealing them straight off my feet!
Nancy however is a little more cautious then Peter, when it comes to being introduced to new people, however when she gets going she's a little minx. We call her Nancy Doodles or I'm quite partial to Nancy Drew as she's such a busy body, nosing at everything and wanting to explore ALL THE TIME! She's definitely cheekier than Peter and gives him the runaround most of the time but as I'm writing this she's curled up on my lap like a little princess pup and it's making my heart cry tears of joy, she's just so precious and SO tiny.
They're quite honestly the best things to ever happen to me and have already brought so much additional love into mine and George's life. We're both SO excited to have a life together with the two of them in tow.
Please let me know if you'd like any puppy/dachshund specific blogposts as we grow and learn with and from them, I'd love to help in anyway I can.
Lots of love!
