JEEEEZ what a couple of weeks I've had!
I've been back and forth to America twice in less than two weeks and I for one am knackered!
However I cannot tell you how truly grateful I am to have been given such wonderful opportunities. America is one of those places that I've ALWAYS wanted to explore from top to bottom and despite the current goings on over there with a certain WOTSIT it is still one of my favourite places in the entire world.
There's just something about it that gets me every time, that fills my tummy with butterflies and my head full of ideas, it's a magical place and I'm feeling SO lucky to have been able to explore two cities within the USA in January alone... Bonkers!
I'll be hitting you with a heck load of goodness from my recent trip to Miami over the next couple of posts but thought I'd start off the week with the final look from my trip to New York.
I'm not sure how many of you watch my YouTube channel (if you do, let me know, I'd love to know how many of you go across both/all channels) but I recently did a spot of sale shopping. Both high-street and luxury online stores were struck with the force of one very spendy Megan and I have to say, I'm totally BUZZING with the pieces I managed to bag, see everything I picked up in this video here.
But the one piece that shone brighter than all other bargains was of course my beloved striped faux fur coat by J Crew x Net-a-Porter
I touched upon my love of this little baby a few posts back now here but I really wanted to go into further detail on why I am so impressed with my little self for purchasing such a statement piece.
Albeit a little bold, this jacket was the perfect piece for keeping warm in bitterly cold NYC in the height of winter, it's oh-so wonderfully thick meaning I was suitably toasty throughout our short trip.
Bold it is, and I must say I was a little bored of wearing it after five days in the Big Apple, but since I've been in Miami sunning myself for the last week I am BEYOND excited to give it some love again. Just one of those pieces that continues to excite me and continues to surprise me when it comes to styling.
It was a pricey little splurge, however the fact it was a limited edition piece for Net-A-Porter only added to it's attraction meaning however bold and daring it may be, it won't be seen on every Tom, Dick and Harry as can sometimes be the case with designer pieces.
It was an investment I adored making and one I know I'll be very sad to put away when Spring arrives.
As I mentioned above, the styling posibillities with this coat are continuing to surprise me on a daily basis... I mean, take this look for example. I look like Poppa Smurf (if Poppa Smurf wore a red hat and a V snazzy faux fur coat that is) however it all totally works in my opinion. I really love the mix of Primary Colours, colours that are fast becoming my faves to style with due to their tom-boy-esque feel.
Blue, Red and Yellow... What a complete treat indeed, tied together with some contrasting black fish nets, my absolute favourite black trousers from Joseph and my beloved Gucci handbag... Perfectamundo.
