We are currently approaching the most miserable day of the year.
And it comes as no shock that this day is a Monday!
Monday 16th January to be precise aka Blue Monday. This day comes around every single year and is known for being down right miserable for the majority of the UK.
It isn't exactly scientific, but research shows that this date, due to a number of reasons such as the down right AWFUL British weather, financial strains since Christmas came and went along with of course us all having FAILED our newly set resolutions, well quite frankly, we're all buggered!
What a depressing sentence that is ey!
Now, I'm not one to chat such negativity up in here, but like you guys I do find this time of the year to be down right rubbish. I've put on some extra winter timber since Christmas, I've tightened my purse strings and I'm already BORED TO DEATH of staying in and attempting Dry January, can someone please pass me the Gin already!?
I must be honest here, I'm escaping the UK for the majority of January in a pursuit of fun and sun, because quite frankly the most part of December was pretty miserable for me indeed.
So with that, as I am now a fully fledged member of the "I went to miserable town and all I got was this lowsy T-Shirt" club, I thought I would share my top tip for perking yourself up this January.

So, a sure fired way to perk yourself up this January is through, you guessed it, CLOTHES!
Go through your wardrobe and find the pieces that make you feel great. The pieces that instantly cheer you up. The pieces that go-down a treat on Instagram. The pieces that connote happy times. The pieces that are bright and bold af and the pieces that create all the turned heads and all the stares which leave you feeling on-top of your A game once again.
We all have those failsafe pieces, those that make us feel totally bad ass and oh so totally awesome and I feel that throughout 2016 I was really able to whittle down those favourite pieces that instantly perk me up and make me feel like the best version of myself.
2016 was the year of the two piece suit for me.
Whether I was twinning with my good friend Bee in pink panther style suits, rocking the classic three piece suit in black or totally going for it in red velvet or green jacquard, I truly fell in love with the all empowering, all girl bossing and oh-so sexy power of the suit.
Along with that of the suit, I found the power of the accessory to be that of a strong one, which you can read all about in this post here. And of course, there are very few things that a faux fur coat in the most fabulous of colours doesn't have the power to fix.

Faux fur coats have got to be my most loved piece of outerwear, not to mention the largest selection of outerwear within my collection.
And might I add not a single one of those is black or neutral.
The power of the colourful coat is that of a strong one.
Throwing on a statement, totally bright and fluffy coat is my failsafe, my oneway ticket to Happy-Ville and my ultimate cheer up mechanism for this time of year.
This divine Gucci-esque pink faux fur coat is by Cath Kidston and is all kinds of wonderful.
Not only is it in the most beautiful shade of pink, but it's also made from the softest of faux fur's whilst also being completely and utterly toasty in every single way. I have never, and will never wear a real fur coat, so I can't say it's just as warm as those pieces. However, this is the coat I opt for when those dreaded minus days arise.
I've listed a few of my must have fun faux fur coats below, some of which I have got and completely ADORE and some that I'm desperately trying to find room for in my coat-drobe.

Go on, try it! I promise you it won't be long till you have the spring back in your step, your chin high and the smile back on your face.
But for ultimate happy points, I suggest you throw in your favourite floral dress, you know the one that makes your legs look longer then they are and nips you in at the waist and therefore makes you feel fabulous... Yeah, that also helps.

Yessss I am all about colourful faux furs and this one is the perfect shade of pink! I did recently buy my first black faux fur because it was such a lovely shape and I didn’t have a black coat in my coat-drobe so I thought I would make it faux fur! Love these motivating posts you do but unfortunately it’s too cold where I am to be able to rock a dress and cute boots! *sobs* XX
